Sketches by Jan Tschichold
The German typographic society Forum Typografie arranged a visit to the type & book art archive of the National Library in Leizpig, where most of the work-related sketches and materials of Jan Tschichold are currently stored. With some other type enthusiast I had the chance to browse through this amazing collection. Here are some pictures from that day …
By the way: The typeface sketched in the last two pictures is available as Iwan Reschniew from fonts.info and MyFonts.
Spot the Monocle logo.
Wondering if these two sketches related or is it just my imagination: the little flowering vine in picture #4 and the “FGS” sketch at the top left of picture #5 (counting from the top)?
