I am highly interested in information design and design research. My recent focus was on type legibility in the context of signage systems. You can read a lot about this topic here on my blog. The research led to development of my signage typeface Wayfinding Sans Pro.

A newer area of interest is spatial cognition. I am interested in how cognitive map research can be applied to the design of maps and wayfinding systems.
